I don't know, there are some differences. The thing I loved the most is that the manga has more story, so -for instance- you see how the friendship between Shinji and Toji Suzuhara evolves after a couple of hundreds of pages. And then, when Toji dies at the end of volume 6 you feel like you need to cry. I didn't get that feeling from the anime because the character had only been around for a few episodes.
