Flashback. Even more so it looks like a flashback to Amazing #280-281 aka the Sinister Syndicate which Jack O'Lantern hired to distract Spidey so he could bust out the "Hobgoblin".

Yeah, I remember that one. The battle between Kingsley and Macendale in #281 was a good one.
