Batman Begins and Inception actor Ken Watanabe will reunite with Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures. for their remake of Godzilla, which the studios announced began filming today in Vancouver.

There's been a rumor in circulation since February that TOHO, the license holders for the Godzilla franchise may potentially require that Legendary Pictures, the studio behind the 2014 Godzilla reboot, use some suitmation at some point throughout the film in addition to CGI effects.

A new set photo from Godzilla - now lensing in Vancouver - shows off director Gareth Edwards with actor Akira Takarada, star of the original 1954 Godzilla!

Takarada played diver Hideto Ogata in the original film; no word as to how big of a role he'll have in the American redo.

The Deadline website reported that actress Sally Hawkins (Happy-Go-Lucky) claimed the final lead role in Gareth Edward's Godzilla film. Hawkins will play a scientist in the film

Pacific Business News is reporting that Jurassic Park 4, Godzilla, Pirates of the Caribbean 5 and Cameron Crowe's new untitled film (AKA "Deep Tiki") all have plans to film in Hawaii.
