![]() Keen eyed fans have taken notice that more than one female Robin might have debuted in Batman & (Red) Robin #19. This theory/rumor originally springs from this tumblr post, and this reporter has to admit the theory does hold some weight. Here's the theory in a nutshell: in the issue (which another one of us effortlessly teased over that exact fact) the character of Carrie Kelley debuts in the New 52 universe. Also debuting in the issue is a nameless roommate of Carrie's who supiciously looks like a certain TOXIC character. Don't believe me?
Hmm okay un-named roomate who happens to be wearing purple and has blonde hair. Now at first I did think the tumblr theory was reaching, UNTIL I came upon this panel and became a believer:
Now of note (since this wasn't mentioned in the original theory from tumblr above, and they give another more reaching panel), but this reporter can't help but be reminded of an issue of Batgirl vol. 1 #27 particularly this page:
Note the dialogue with this page and the panel above. Note the fact that both characters have a history of losing. Note also the digusted faces as well. The writer for the issue, Pete Tomasi does love his history and does love paying homages. Could this be one? What fascinates this reporter of this "homage" is the fact that it's from Cassandra Cain's now continuity removed series. A character who Pete Tomasi is possibly not too fond of (evidence can be seen here). But what of Stephanie? We know that some within DC have been trying to bring the character back. Could this be the New 52 introduction of Stephanie Brown? Possibly. The only real way is to ask writer Pete Tomasi. Who as of this moment is still attending C2E2 this year (and is but two weeks away). Stephanie Brown fans I know you're listening. Maybe you should ask Mr. Tomasi if this theory is actually fact and maybe you should buy the issue to judge for yourself. Until then (since this reporter WILL BE ATTENDING C2E2 as well and WILL ask the writer said question at the convention) we'll keep you updated in case any more news on this theory presents itself.

What additional evidence? That the word "losing" was used in her presence? In that case, Zechs, YOU may be Stephanie Brown, because you are CLEARLY "losing" touch with reality. ![]() |
