I haven't picked up 5 yet. But I'm looking forward to reading it. Zaniest series that I've read in a long while.

i think that's kinda the position i've finally adopted as well. it's crazy fun, but you almost have to read it sideways (or at least with a very hefty amount of suspension of disbelief) to keep from throwing your hands up in exasperation.

Yeah, I think that was clear from the moment Cap uses his shield to boil water.

Anyway, I must say I'm enjoying the flashbacks quite a lot, even more than the 'main' story. Steve Rogers stealing? I loved that moment.

Issue #5 wasn't bad. I strangely kind of like the Captains of Zolandia.

Five issues in and I am still convinced that my original theory is correct. I don't know what Zola's endgame is here but I still suspect that Cap is still strapped into one of Zola's crazy machines or laying on a table in his lab and all of these adventures in Zola's world are actually happening in Cap's mind.

Okay I read 1-5 last night like it was a collected book. I have to say that much like uncanny avengers, this does not read will on a monthly basis. When you can't see the story on the whole it's like confusing and fractured and shit. When you read it all together it's way better.

I'll have to go back and give this a try. I am actually enjoying this series but I wonder if I were to sit down and read it all in one sitting, if I wouldn't like it a little bit more.

Don't know why Jet Black had to be naked to fight Cap though. That was silly.

I assume that it was the same logic that was used in Dragon Ball Z where the fighters would wear these ridiculously heavy, gravity defying clothes to train in and then remove them prior to battle so they could move faster and punch harder...or something.

Agree, while it is nice to have a Planet Captain America storyline it would be nice to have a little more trickle of the end game. As we are coming to issue six I think that is where we will see it, as a nice end cap to the first arc.

I appreciate that though. Sometimes superhero comics are too steeped in reality and I think that takes away from the fantastic elements that defined them in the mid to late 20th century.

Figured it Ian was going to be brainwashed/manipulated by Zola at some point.

I'm pretty annoyed that Remender isn't really tapping into Kirby Zola at this point, instead choosing to make him a prototypical mad scientist dictator. I was expecting more hat tips to Kirby. It's kind of getting bad/silly at this point.
