We're now getting a look at the July anime adaptation of fantasy light novel series Kami-sama no Inai Nichiyoubi ("A Sunday Without God"), based on the award winning books written by Kimihito Irie and illustrated by Shino. Aki Toyosaki and Daisuke Namikawa voice the leads in the Yuujo Kumazawa directed production.

Japanese fast food chain Lotteria announced on Thursday that it will offer a "Q-Dan Cheeseburger" to mark the April 24 Blu-ray Disc and DVD release of the Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo film. The burger comes with nine layers of patties and cheese, topped with an all-original Spear of Longinus fork for 1,280 yen (about US$13).

Last year's Sailor Moon anime anniversary event announced that a new anime was planned for summer 2013 with idol group Momoiro Clover Z providing the theme. That's about the extent of the hard information, and in that vacuum of details, there have been a lot of accumulating claims that we will not be seeing the revival next season.

OK, take this collection of claims for what it's worth.

Tōru Furuya, voice of Tuxedo Mask, was at the 20th anniversary event, but has not been confirmed to be reprising the role. He was also at this weekend's Festival Cartoonist in Nice, France, along with character designer Kazuko Tadano and animator Hiromi Matsushita. Reportedly, he said that the new anime will not be arriving this summer.

Similarly, chatter out of Europe, where the original anime was recently licensed for DVD, is that companies trying to work with Toei on the new license are being stonewalled on a work that will not be available in 2013.

The editors of Square Enix's Young Gangan magazine announced on Monday that Caterpillar manga artist Isuka Hakozaki passed away suddenly. He was 27.

April 22nd is the birthday for one of the most distinct voices in Japan, Joji Nakata! Not only is his voice acting skill superb, fans love his playful personality as well!

Good news comes out of the Crunchyroll catalog today: The addition of Studio Trigger's Little Witch Academia short! Directed by Panty & Stocking's Yoh Yoshinari and written by Masahiko Otsuka (Gurren Lagann, Panty & Stocking), the full short is available to view today.

Little Witch Academia is available to Crunchyroll audiences in North America, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands, Turkey, and Latin America (Central and South America including the Caribbean).
