The storyline once again moves along too fast for me to really care. Four episodes into the new season and the cliffhangers from last season are already resolved, plus the Predacon is apparently out of the picture. I love the characters in this show, and the nods to prior continuity, but the stories seem to move way too fast with little in the way of lasting consequence.

I haven't been picking up RID and MTMTE, but I have read the first trade of each and keep up with the storylines. With respect to RID #16:

Damn Starscream, just when I thought you'd changed...

Nah Predaking isn't out of the picture YET. And come on.. it's Starscream. It's what he does best. :P

Pac Rim's del Toro Responds to Bay's "Rip-Off" Jab

Okay, so earlier this week, Michael Bay was promoting his upcoming films Pain and Gain and Transformers 4 at CinemaCon, where he told theater owners that there have been quite a few robot "rip-off" movies and that the audience "should know better."

As The Hollywood Reporter speculates, this was likely in reference to films like Real Steel and Battleship, both of which were considered failures at the box office. However, some have interpreted the comment as a possible slam against Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim, which the filmmaker presented at CinemaCon a day later. (It should also be noted that Pac Rim was never directly mentioned by Bay.)

In response, del Toro said that his film is completely different from Transformers. "We are far, far, far away from that in a very willing fashion," he said. "For good or bad, this is my movie. This is my universe and my creation, and I do not create through comparison.

"The fights don't occur in well-lit, supercool, car commercial-looking environments," del Toro continued. "They occur in the middle of a raging sea storm or in a savage snowstorm. They happen in a universe that is incredibly saturated."

Hasbro Invites Fans To Create New TRANSFORMERS Character

For the first time in history, the Hasbro TRANSFORMERS brand is inviting fans of all ages around the globe to help create a new Transformers character that will be forever added to the Transformers world. In anticipation of the Transformers’ brand 30th anniversary in 2014, the “Fan Built Bot” Poll kicks off today, and will run through May 5th on Transformers.com/vote. Hasbro invites fans to vote daily to shape this new Transformers character. The new character will be made into an action figure featured in the “Thrilling 30” line of toys to celebrate the anniversary.

Hasbro is giving kids and fans the opportunity to make the “Fan Built Bot” character with votes determining everything from being an Autobot or Decepticon - to its vehicle or other mode, color, personality and more. Kids and fans are encouraged to vote daily! Also, to keep with the theme of the fans being the ones who really shape and create this new Transformers character, Hasbro will also give fans a say in the naming of the new character. More details on the naming will be announced soon.

"Why are you pointing your screwdrivers like that? They're scientific instruments, not water pistols."
"Oh, the pointing again! They're screwdrivers! What are you going to do? Assemble a cabinet at them?"
"Are you capable of speaking without flapping your hands about?"
""Timey" what? "Timey wimey"?"
