Sony is pretty good at putting together sets for the PS3. Microsoft totally sucks, they haven't done anything like they have.

I mostly agree, but what has Microsoft done that is worth this type of collection? They don't have a ton of first party games outside of Halo. However, I'm just dying to play Blinx: the Time Sweeper again.

Well there's a Splinter Cell set that's only available for the PS3.

EA Lays Off Staff, Makes 'Hard but Essential Changes'

EA has confirmed additional layoffs in a new “organizational update.” In a post on its official site, EA posted the following statement:

“In recent weeks, EA has aligned all elements of its organizational structure behind priorities in new technologies and mobile. This has led to some difficult decisions to reduce the workforce in some locations. We are extremely grateful for the contributions made by each of our employees – those that are leaving EA will be missed by their colleagues and friends.

These are hard but essential changes as we focus on delivering great games and showing players around the world why to spend their time with us.”

Polygon reports that the layoffs "now number in the hundreds" and that the layoffs affect "nearly every part of the company," with some divisions losing dozens of employees.

Nintendo won't be having a big press conference at this year's E3:

http://kotaku.com/nintendo-wont-be-having-an-e3-press-conference-this-ye-480309870?utm_source=feedly

It'll be disappointing to not have them try to compete in the E3 press conference arena this year with Sony and Microsoft. It'll certainly be a big blow to my yearly staycation I use to watch E3 coverage. However, it kind of makes sense. Nintendo has already released their new console while Sony and Microsoft battle it out. It also seems like Nintendo has been using those Nintendo Direct events to announce E3-announcement-worthy level games recently, so they may not really need the big press conference anymore when they can stream to fans and media once a month.

That's pretty disappointing. With the recent release of Monster Hunter games for 3DS and Wii U, I was actually potentially interested in a Vita title. And didn't the PSP get propped up by Monster Hunter sales in Japan?

I believe it was. Not sure what it is behind that since it does appear Vita is starting to show some legs in Japan. Unless Nintendo has some kind of deal (though MH Online is for PCs and such I think)? Or maybe cause there is God Eater which has been compared to MH (Eater is made by Bandai but I think it is exclusively Sony).

I guess they are going through with it...

Microsoft IllumiRoom projects its vision for next-gen Xbox

IllumiRoom, Microsoft's game-expanding projector technology, is envisioned ideally for the next-generation Xbox, which is set to be revealed next month. Microsoft's Redmond-based Research group says its vision is for an "ultra-wide field of view device sitting on the user's coffee table, projecting over a large area surrounding the television. The device would be connected wirelessly to a next generation gaming console as a secondary display."

Heh

Sonic The Hedgehog’s Latest Game Has Players Run On Treadmills

Move over Mario & Sonic at the Olympics! Sonic Athletics is the closest thing to running a 100 meter race as a blue hedgehog. Debuting at the Sega mini-amusement park Joypolis, Sonic Athletics puts eight players on treadmills to run in three events – 100 meter dash, long jump, and a 110 meter hurdles. There’s a button on the machine you can press to make Sonic or whoever you play as jump.
