Teen Titans Go! a Ratings Hit!

The first episode brought in the viewers with over two million!!

That's what Nick and More are saying. The show crushed all foes in it's time slot and actually increased viewersship to a whooping +35% (Johnny Test, the show run before it, had only 3.7). Here's what Warner Brothers Animation had to say in their press notes:

The debut of Warner Bros. Animation’s new animated comedy-action series TEEN TITANS GO! on Tuesday, April 23, at 7:30/6:30c on Cartoon Network packed a ratings punch, ranking as the #1 kids program of the day on basic cable among Boys 2-11, 6-11, 9-14 and Male Teens.

It also ranked #1 in its time period among Kids 2-11 & 6-11 as well as Boys 2-11, 6-11, 9-14 and Male Teens, outpacing its timeslot competition on Nickelodeon and DisneyHD by double- and triple-digits among the show’s key demos of Kids 6-11 and Boys 6-11.

Please find additional highlights below (source: NHI Galaxy Explorer, Live+Same Day U.S. AA rating):

  • TEEN TITANS GO! delivered a 5.0 rating among its key demo of Boys 6–11 and more than two million Total Viewers
  • Among Boys 6–11, the 5.0 rating for TEEN TITANS GO! improved Cartoon Network’s performance in the time period by +117% versus last week (2.3 rating for The Amazing World of Gumball).
  • Also among Boys 6–11, TEEN TITANS GO! grew from its lead-in by +35% (3.7 rating for Johnny Test)

Didn't watch the premier, but caught it On Demand.
OK. It's good for a comedy show. They even worked in Soylent Green jokes. It doesn't replace Young Justice, but it's better than nothing. I would say it is comparable to the new Loony Toons show.

It's a good thing that kids don't read comics anymore...I don't even want to think about the possible backlash that would ensue when children get hooked on this show and want their parents to buy them new comics featuring the characters.

Because Dick, Donna, and Wally should be able to move up to the grown-up's table with the JLA, but Cyborg needs to stay at the kiddie's table with the Titans, right?

Uh no, I'd rather they all be titans. That's what they are.

But that book was more focused on Tim, Cassie, Conner, Bart, Gar, and the de-aged Raven than it was Vic and Kory.
