"The Great One" Brian Bendis, Jason Aaron, and Brian Wood will be bringing X-Men fans the first major crossover event since 2010's Second Coming, unless of course you count all the other crossover events since then, in this falls X-Men: Battle of the Atom. Announced today at the X-Men panel at C2E2, the event will see a future team of X-Men, designed by Art Adams and consisting of Kate Pryde as leader, Future Beast, Ice-Thing, Molly Hayes, Deadpool, Lady Xorn, and a mysterious character yet to be named, meeting up with the current team of X-Men and the past team from All New X-Men. The three teams will fight over whether or not to send the past X-Men back to the past, probably because their presence will create a post-apocalyptic future, something that occurs whenever an X-Man sneezes.
Here's a description from Marvel.com:
X-Men: Battle of the Atom begins this September in X-MEN: BATTLE OF THE ATOM #1 by Bendis and artist Frank Cho then continues in UNCANNY X-MEN, ALL-NEW X-MEN, WOLVERINE & THE X-MEN and X-MEN into the next month. The crossover then concludes with X-MEN: BATTLE OF THE ATOM #2 in October by Aaron and a mystery artist, thus ensuring that the X-Men's world will never look the same again.
