Marvel hosted a panel for the controversial Superior Spider-Man family of books at C2E2.
While The Outhouse has several reporters at C2E2, they were captured by thugs from DC Comics who claim we parody them too much, so we've had to source IGN's coverage for this panel.
Marvel PR muckity muck Arune Singh hosted the panel which featured Tom Brevoort, Ellie Pyle, Mark Waid, Declan Shalvey, Ryan Stegman, Josh Fialkov, Nick Spencer, Humberto Ramos, and Chris Samnee. Dan Slott attended by skype because he is a nice guy who doesn't like it when I make up fake reasons for why he didn't show up somewhere.
Pyle and Stegman are not used to the kind of attention (read: fanboy outrage) they're getting over Superior Spider-Man.
With Age of Ultron currently going on, Marvel was reminded of utterly useless crossover events of the past, so Shadowland will be dealt with in Superior Spider-Man #14.
Miguel O'Hara (Spider-Man 2099) will return in September.
There was some panel pillow-talk about how much fans will like Superior Spider-Man Team-Up, Superior Foes of Spider-Man, Superior Carnage, Scarlet Spider, and Venom, but nothing of subtance or newsworthiness.
Fialkov admitted that no one likes Alpha. He tried to spin it, but you can't polish a turd.
Waid and Samnee are like rock stars, beloved for their work on Daredevil. Waid said Daredevil is all about bromance. He then knocked over a table and stormed out, before returning to talk about how the book is a collaborative process between him and Samnee.
Pyle revealed a new costume design for Valkyrie in Fearless Defenders.
Questions were asked and answered.
