Morning Glories #26 Recalled When Misprint Accidentally Advances Plot

A misprinted page in Morning Glories #26 has caused Image to order all remaining copies destroyed lest the plot move along a tiny bit after 26 issues.

Source: Bleeding Cool

When Morning Glories first debuted in 2010, not only was it met with widespread success and acclaim from fans and critics, but it also almost single-handedly rekindled the long-dead speculators market in comic books, resulting in scores of greedy ebay merchants buying up copies of the comic to sell on ebay for inflated prices to people who for some inexplicable reason think comic books are worth real money. Twenty six issues later, the furor has kind of died down, based mostly on the fact that not a single plot point has moved forward since the start of the series. However, as the brave, handsome and intelligent Rich Johnston, stalwart champion of loyalty and justice over at Bleeding Cool* reported yesterday, Morning Glories #26 shipped with one of the pages wrong last week, and Image Comics has ordered retailers to destroy any copies left in the store, which they will replace with new copies.

Image did not give any information as to how the page ended up in there, but it is rumored that the page contained a scene in which something happened, moving the plot along a tiny bit, which is completely unacceptable. No doubt Image is hoping to drag the series out for a hundred and fifty issues only to introduce all the characters to a magic light in a cave and then send them off to a non-denominational hippie church to hold hands and journey together into the afterlife, at which point they will blame the fans for ever expecting the mystery to be resolved in the first place, saying it was always "character driven.' Because we all know that shows are character driven can't possibly have plots resolved or mysteries explained. You son of a bitch, David Lindelov! You goddamn son of a bitch!

Sorry, where we? Yeah, we kinda stopped talking about Morning Glories. Sorry about that. Look, if you want a new copy, you could probably get your shop to give you one in trade for the old one, which they can sell on ebay now that it's rare. But really, why bother? The story isn't going to make any more or less sense with or without the correct page. In fact, Image should just throw all the pages for the rest of the series up in the air, and wherever they land, that's the way the issue gets printed.

And...

...I would still buy it. What is wrong with me? Damn you, Nick Spencer, patron saint of the MGS!

See the pages below. We have no idea which is the correct page, but, as we said, we doubt it matters.

*He gets this ONE. Tomorrow, it's back to taking all his dialog straight from A Clockwork Orange and Mary Poppins. But for today... Pip pip to you, Rich. Pip pip to you.

Foolish!

Damon Lindelof. Now you have to destroy all copies of your article and redistribute it!

edit: first page is a misprint. That happened in issue 25.

The misprint didn't accidentally advance the plot, it included a page from a previous issue (the one on the left). The one on the right is the missing one.

It's entirely possible that the original article was joking.
