At this point I don't think any of this matters and the books only purpose(other than money of course which none of mine goes to) is to just piss people off because they think it will boost readers is it? I mean I'm amazed this ghost peter story has lasted as long as it did. How can Marvel be putting such great books out like Hulk, Thor, Cap(yes fuck you, I said Cap), And the 3 X-men books and then such terrible dreck like this and Age of Ultron.

it's been decent. nothing groundbreaking but it's maintained a solid pace. it's been a solid 7 in my book, no more no less.

No, I actually enjoy the book for what it is. A crazy journey with someone else who's name is not Peter Parker, Ben Reilly, or Miles Morales as Spider-Man. In fact, this reminds me of Jean Paul Valley as Batman, showing us all the wrong reasons why an extreme Spider-Man is wrong.

Also this journey Doc Ock is taking is quite enjoyable. It beats the usual Parker luck and retreads Brand New Day gave us. I almost wish Peter Parker remains dead, since Spock has prove he is SUPERIOR. :P

Comics fans need to be pissed off more, there's nothing worse than giving fanboys what they want.

Yeah, this might have been the first issue of the run to rub me the wrong way. Overall I've been liking Ock-as-Peter. However, my two problems with this issue were:
1) Really? So what we thought was the status quo 9 issues ago is now the actual status quo? Shocking and original!
2) Did it seem unnecessarily cruel to anyone else that Peter was made to forget Uncle Ben?

I do easily see ways out of this for Slott, though.
1) Peter's brain is in the body of Ock's old robot. They made too big of a deal of the robot being involved in the process. And Peterbot could become the 6th member of the 5-person "Sinister Six" that'll be running around in Superior Foes of Spiderman. That'd be the only way I could imagine that book maintaining the readership to service.
2) Pay attention to the language used in the final page. Those are a lot of nondescriptive pronouns. While it was quite heavily implied that Ock is the one who is "free," that very well could be Peter saying it.

If this runs longer than the clone saga, which thankfully there is really only two books with Superior Spider-Man in it and one is more of a off main storyline Team-Up book, I'll be disappointed. It is all a matter of When Peter Comes Back which should be I'd guess sometime at the end of the year. (A Christmas Miracle! Or next Easter. )

Well, yes and no. I agree they should be challenged, certainly, but there are limits. Marvel, to some extent, understand these limits. DC currently, do not.

That said, this book and storyline doesn't piss me off: I just have no desire to read a story about Doc Ock rampaging around in Spider-Man's body. I'll be back if and when Peter is.

[Reveal] Spoiler: Click to Expand
Here's one way out:

Image
A full copy of Peter Parker's memories are still in golden octobot that Doc Ock originally used to transfer his mind into Peter’s body, and Peter used later in an attempt to transfer it back.

Ock tells the Living Brain to destroy the octobot. But then Peter tries to seize control of the body in the next scene and Ock has to call the robot to help tie his arms down.

So the golden octobot doesn’t get destroyed.
