So, this has been bugging me for a while. Do we have any English scholars on this site? I've been trying to figure out how the correct way to phrase a possessive noun in certain sentences.
is it " Nintendo are the most family-friendly video game company out there today"
or, "Nintendo is the most family-friendly video game company out there today"
I see the first example increasingly almost exclusively on gaming and comic sites. I've always understood the second as correct, but I'm willing to be proven wrong.
