![]() No, not that Michael Jordan. The other one. Source: TheWrap When I first heard the news that Michael Jordan was in talks to play Johnny Storm, I was excited to hear that the NBA superstar and Charlotte Bobcats owner was coming out of his Hollywood retirement. After all, Jordan already made a name for himself defending the world against aliens in Space Jam, so why wouldn't he fit well playing one of Marvel's many superheroes? Then I found out that it was a different Michael Jordan. Michael B. Jordan, of Chronicle fame. While he's not the greatest basketball player of all time, he's still a pretty decent actor. He's also black, which means that, if casted, he'll be the subject of plenty of uncomfortable discussions about "racebending" in superhero movies. In fact, there's probably one going on in the comments right now. So what are your thoughts about Michael B. Jordan? Would you rather see Michael J. Jordan (that's the basketball player) step into the role of Johnny Storm instead? Do you think the casting would be worth it just to see thousands of racists explode in rage, thuse removing their collective stupidity from the Internet? Are you disappointed we only made one Space Jam reference in the article? Written or Contributed by ThanosCopter READ THIS ARTICLE ON THE FRONT PAGE, HUMANS! |

Two reasons why: 1)I think if you're going to change a characters race to do it to Reed would be more interesting. How often do you see a black, scientist/superhero/team leader? 2)You don't have to throw in some obvious dialouge about Johnny or Sue being adopted. I hate when movies feel the need to shoehorn obvious shit in. |

Reed would be an awesome black guy. He could use his stretch powers to steal things from long distances and make even more dick size jokes. Being serious though I think Reed gender crossing would be a lot cooler too. |

never, b/c you know nobody's ever gonna believe the world's smartest man is a brother. ![]() ![]() ![]() seriously, i'd have no problem with Ben being played by a black guy. of course then i'm sure you'd get fan uproar over "oh, so it has to be the football star that's a black guy b/c everybody knows smart dude's gotta be a whitey. racist!!!" just keep 'em all as The Man intended 'em, I say. |

Neil Degrasse Tyson, muthafukka! ![]() (If you're going the funny-racist angle, make an Extra-Crispy Human Torch joke instead.) |
