I don't know the actor, and Johnny Storm's race isn't central to his character, so I really don't feel strongly about this at all.

The only potential hurdle, as people have stated, is how to address Sue and Johnny's relationship, but I guess that depends on who they cast as Sue. A brief statement mentioning that either Johnny or Sue is adopted wouldn't necessarily interfere with the flow of the film.

seriously, i'd have no problem with Ben being played by a black guy. of course then i'm sure you'd get fan uproar over "oh, so it has to be the football star that's a black guy b/c everybody knows smart dude's gotta be a whitey. racist!!!"

just keep 'em all as The Man intended 'em, I say.

I don't want them to change any of the character honestly but if they do it? Reed's my choice.

Ben's one of the great Jewish superheroes. Jews don't get that much representation among the capes. I aint taking that away from them.

Nerdy white boy superheroes? Shit you can't throw a rock without hitting one of those dudes in the Marvel Universe.

Just use the cast of New Girl for the Fantastic Four.

Nick - Reed Richards
Jess - Sue Storm
Winston - Johnny Storm
Schmidt - The Thing
Cici - Alicia Masters

I personally would rather see the characters portrayed as the same race they have been in the comics for the past 60 years, but thats just me. You know if they want to have a black dude in a superhero movie, then pick one of the awesome black characters that are out there instead of making the race swap. I know this whole thing makes me sound bad but people always get pissed off about the "white washing" of film characters when Hollywood always used white folks to play characters that are obviously not white. I just think that if a character has always been a white dude in the comics then he should be a white dude in the movies, and same goes for black characters, asian, etc.

The whole brother sister thing is a moot point though after the first two FF movies where Sue Storm was obviously Hispanic and Johnny Storm was not

I wonder how many awkward narrative hoops Marvel will jump through in order to turn the characters black in the comics. Can they all have secret illegitimate mixed-race kids who can replace them and take their names?

In this case, I think the "Blurry" method of switching the race of the character would still apply. If there's one person in the Marvel Universe that has a secret illegitimate mixed-race child, it's Johnny Storm. Also, Wolverine. You should probably also toss in Dr. Strange in there too. And Namor. And Iron Man.

Shit, the Marvel Universe is filled with manwhores.
