It's a fake twitter account. Not really Bob.
Yes a long time ago. Probably a year ago at least. If you want, I can report you for your user title. ![]()
Try drinking ice water. Before I went on my diet (more like eating habits change), I was drinking a fair amount of pop. Not a lot, maybe like a can a day, but I've stopped completely. I just drink water. It's boring, but it really does make you feel a lot better. If you want/need the caffeine, coffee or tea is good. Fruit juice is good but if you really want it, just get a juice and juice your fruits. Or just eat the fruit. That way you'll get fibre and poop a lot. I don't know why people believe diet pop is a good thing. It's just as bad with all the chemicals and shit. |

Ha, that's interesting - I've had plenty of friends claim they dropped 10 pounds when they gave up soda/soft drinks. Bragging time: I went from 245 to 185. Most didn't notice until I had lost 30, but after that I got all kinds of comments. Most were compliments, but a few were asking "So, did you mean to lose weight....?" (That's apparently the white person's polite way of asking if you have cancer.) I never knew that could be a compliment! |

I had the surgery. ![]() As a result, I just get full on small portions of food. As a result of that, if I don't want to feel sick all day, I have to choose what those small portions are, preferably protein-rich. Drinking soda isn't even a consideration, I drink it once in a while (and drink full-sugar, I don't like the chemicals), but we're talking half a glass and not with meals. And we try (when we can afford it) to eat natural foods. For instance, we made our own peanut butter yesterday. But that can get tough/expensive feeding a family of five. Once I started losing weight it became possible for me to actually like, be active and stuff, so I can get exercise. So all that stuff together, but I really needed the surgery to kick things off, retrain my body and mind to not want to eat huge portions of awful food. And when I do eat something awful, it's like, half a cheeseburger. I learned that fries are unnecessary as a side dish to meals at restaurants. Etc. etc. etc. |

Yeah, with surgical help... wuss. ![]() I'm Batman to your Bionic Man! (for reals, tho - congrats) Hell yeah, it's in a frame hanging in my kids' room (beside a JSA sketch signed by Irwin Hasen). Thanks - it's good to be back. |

Fixed the user title for you ![]() Almost all I've had to drink is water and you're right... you do feel better! I do drink tea and coffee once in a while (but only if my wife is already making it). Also agree about diet cola's. HORRIBLE stuff. |

Research "Community Supported Agriculture" in your area. You have to pony up some money up-front, but it is super cheap if you see how much you get over an entire season compared to buying produce at a grocery. |

Food quality is important but the BIGGEST thing for me has been portion control. I give myself a chance to see if I'm ACTUALLY full rather than keep cramming. I'm by no means heavy... 38 years old, almost 6'3" and was at 220... but my wife wanted to lose some weight so rather than be a hindrance with my potato chips, colas and such I just eat the same things and same portions as her. Helps us both actually. Plus we have a 2 year old and I need to be able to keep up with her! ![]() |

Yeah. Fries are totally not good to eat. I've given up tons of foods I was eating that were just junk. Fries (any type of potato, really), cheese, gravy, bacon (yeah, bacon), etc. I stopped eating out as well. I rarely go out for dinner and if I do, it's no longer fried chicken or poutine. |
