DC to Release Wonder Woman Chained Series?

Is this art from Grant Morrison's new Wonder Woman series?

Source: Zap2It

Zap2It unveiled some gorgeous Yanick Paquette art for a new Grant Morrison Wonder Woman project. Morrison has been talking about the project for months, and has repeatedly brought up that Wonder Woman's earliest stories involved lots of bondage, and that he wants to find a way to bring the sex back to Wonder Woman, as he thinks it'll help recapture the sales lost by DC when they moved Wonder Woman out of the bondage era.

FYI, the woman shown murdering Hercules is Hippolyta, Wonder Woman's mother.

While Zap2It posits that the artwork is for Wonder Woman: Earth One, we're holding out hope that they'll name the book Wonder Woman: Chained, which will act as a companion title for the similarly named Superman Unchained series.  Let's face it, with DC's current output and treatment of women, would anyone really be surprised if they greenlit a book featuring their main superheroine in a variety of kinky bondage scenarios?  Still, Paquette's art makes this a must read series, 'cause the man's just that good.

Zap2It also revealed some art from Multiversity, which will feature a Captain Marvel story. Morrison stated that the Captain Marvel chapter will be an all-ages story, which means that in theory childrent should be able to read it.  Of course, whether a Grant Morrison all-ages story should actually be given to children remains to seen.

No word on when either of these projects will be released, but we're willing to bet the Wonder Woman project will get solicited soonish.

Would anyone be surprised if they did a Wonder Woman bondage series?

No, because that's what the character originally was!

True, but the surprise is that it's not Warren Ellis writing it or Alan Moore.
That and certain artists not involved.

Plus, inside joke with Achilles - Our old maybe dead friend will love this until his wife catches him with it. Given his posting habits.... :P

It's also funny that unlike DC, Captain Marvel is being called Captain Marvel. 8)

Marston did have a large number of bondage scenes - but they weren't about her being tied up. They were about her be able to break free on her own.

Nah, bondage was Marston's kink, and that's why he put those scenes in the comic. He also created the polygraph... and there's at least one picture of him having fully strapped a woman into it! The man couldn't help himself!
