![]() Gene Ha and a bevy of stock artists will be providing the art. Source: CBR DC announced today that next week's Justice League #20 will feature art from a platoon of artists, including Gene Ha, Andres Guinaldo, Joe Prado and Rob Hunter. Ha has drawn the bulk of the issue, with Guinaldo, Prado and Hunter tag teaming a total of five pages. Ivan Reis and Prado were originally solicited to draw the issue. Here's perennial good sport Gene Ha's thoughts on being DC's go to unexpected fill-in artist:
Spot on statement of DC's treatment of creators. While DC changing up artists on books to make them run on time isn't exactly unexpected (it's been a signature part of DC's New 52), it's the timing of the announcement that really gets me. By waiting until a week before the book comes out to state that the art is coming from a group of fill-ins, they've effectively prevented retailers from scaling their orders back to reflect the lack of an A-list artist. And honestly, since DC has delayed other top sellers such as Green Lantern and Justice League of America, why couldn't they have just let Ha finish the whole issue. Would an extra week really screw up DC's publishing strategy? And even if it had, has that stopped DC before? Anyways, DC shouldn't look to Ha to bail them out again. The artist announced to CBR that he was taking a sabbatical to hone his creative skills.

We didn't reset it. It's stupid, but not full on PR disaster. |

Oh thank goodness. Then there's still hope they'll have a full on PR disaster by Tues. |

I love Gene Ha's work. I have no interest in JL. Oh well, if I remember, I guess I will pick this up. Thanks Outhouse. |
