I don't agree. He got enough right that all that's needed is some tweeks to better appeal to older fans that are not that thrilled with it.

""Timey" what? "Timey wimey"?"

It's a great movie. Worth seeing a second time in the threatre.

I have seen most of it. I'm not hating it, but hating the lazy/sloppiness that is JJ Abrahms. His films are too easy to take apart for the formula use, the cliche and leaning on FX. Add to that, just using other films plot elements to make his film. He's like Michael Bay but without the Nazi and no Megan Fox. Oh and lens flares instead of explosions.

It's a fun film. It's a Trek film. But it does not encompass all of Trek as well as it could by giving us a tighter, makes more sense story that is not a cliche.

Movie was great.

Abrams is the most talented director in Hollywood right now.

Would like to see it again.

My complaint is the continual turnover as Captain. Kirk, Pike, Kirk, Spock, Kirk. I know this is the "Year One" of the rebooted franchise, but enough is enough.

I have heard rumors of a credit scene? any truth??

Became a Trekkie about 1973 or so. Love the Original Series so much more than NG or the others. Saw every Trek film opening day. I love Star Trek and especially the crew of the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 (no A, no B, no etc).

I'm definetly one of those older Trek fans Cat was just talking about.

And yes, I loved the 2009 movie as well.

You're like me, a Trek Junkie... Trekaholic...

By the way, the crew of the A was the same as the crew of.... oh never mind.

I would also have liked a good look at the Dreadnought in good lighting. I know it is a space battle, but . . . . everyone needs to bitch about something.

Also, how far away is the freaking Klingon Empire?? It takes them only a few minutes to get back to (near) Earth near the end of the film. Details like this diminish otherwise good films, for me. But it was still fun!

I'll be honest... and i think Cat might be surprised...

But I found this one to be better than the first film.

There was a LOT of things that annoyed me about this film. Several of them I admit were real geek things (but hey this is Star Trek). I did find the characters to be a little more likeable this time around though.

So I'd give 2009's a D+/C-- and this one a B-/C+

Definitely turn off your brain though

And the only thing I didn't care for was the OLD cast.

Nimoy Spock: "I took a solemn vow and swore to never ever never not tell you things about your future - I mean it man, I will never ever to do it... but what the heck, maybe this one time."

Other than that - great movie!
