I'm not looking to go back to old habits either, but its hard not to be curious. I had only 100 posts there before they wiped it all yesterday. Now I have two more.

I think I had a few hundred, but most of that was from the first month or so before I came here. I didn't post more than 4 or 5 messages a week since coming here, and often had 0.

Does any one else find it curious that they could save all of the posts except for Talk@ which they are mysteriously working on?
And does this mean they fired pluck?

It's a lie. All the posts are stored in a database (including the ones from OldRama). If I had 24 hours with their database, I could easily get ALL of the posts converted from BOTH forums and included on the new board. EASILY - I just did it here for the posts from BludNet not that long ago - and while Newsarama has a LOT of posts, once the script works for ONE post, it works for all of them.

It's just taking data stored in a database as:

Post Name: Blah Blah
Post Number: 3456
Post Date: 02/04/09
Thread Title: Blah Blah
Thread Number: 2352
User: Jude Terror
User Number: 500
Post Content: blah blah blah blah

And changing it over so that it matches the new database names for the new software, which might be:

Post Title: Blah Blah
Post ID: 3456
Post Date: 20090204
Thread Name: Blah Blah
Thread ID: 2352
User Name: Jude Terror
User ID: 500
Post Data: blah blah blah blah

It's really, really simple stuff. If they didn't convert certain stuff, it's because they don't want to, or they DID convert it and are keeping it hidden while they HEAVILY prune it.

It's certainly an interesting development, I'll see if the forum is restored before concocting any conspiracy theories.

Well it says "powered by phpBB" at the bottom of the forum index. I'm not sure if Pluck have been "fired", though.

that is my guess and given the past few weeks, I would have to be proven otherwise to think otherwise.

Jude is right, if they could do it for one they could do it for it all...
