There were a couple of times during this trailer that I just wanted them to just fucking play the John Williams Superman theme already...then I got distracted by what appears to be full on heat vision. Awesome.

Very geeked for this movie but I wish they didn't jump in so heavy on how Superman isn't from Earth.

I'd have liked the film to be more about Super'man' instead of Super'alien'.

Except DC has very little to do with the movie.Yes they fucked their company real good but DC the comic company had very little to do with the Nolan films or Green Lantern.

I thought Johns was all over the GL movie. He was listed as a consultant.

Hopefully he's not involved with this.

Agreed. I don't mind so much when other characters are concerned with the fact that Superman is alien but what has always bothered me about the character is when writers attempt to make him identify more as an alien than as a human. Yes, we know he is an alien from the planet Krypton but he was raised on Earth on a farm in Kansas. At the end of the day, Clark Kent is as human as the rest of us. He just has extraordinary abilities that the rest of us don't.

Basically, if you were raised one way but you suddenly discovered that you were adopted from the other side of the Earth and your birth name was Asparagus Dorklebutt Jr., you wouldn't identify yourself as such. You may be curious about your birth heritage but it wouldn't be you, it would be somebody else if circumstances has played out differently.

But if you grew up stronger, faster, and more resilient than everyone else, and you've been taught your entire life to hide who and what you really are (as it seems Pa Costner did), and then one day you're told you were found on a crashed alien ship, you're going to be a bit of an outsider and act a bit alien. Doesn't mean he identifies himself as super-alien, just that he's taken longer to find himself as a man.

Plus, I'm assuming the entire purpose of using Kryptonians as antagonists--besides the punching--is to show the difference between Superman and his kinsmen.

At least that's what I take from the trailers.

Guilt by association.

It's a DC product so it's possible that it might be shit.

I'm hoping not.
