Agreed. I don't mind so much when other characters are concerned with the fact that Superman is alien but what has always bothered me about the character is when writers attempt to make him identify more as an alien than as a human. Yes, we know he is an alien from the planet Krypton but
he was raised on Earth on a farm in Kansas. At the end of the day, Clark Kent is as human as the rest of us. He just has extraordinary abilities that the rest of us don't.
Basically, if you were raised one way but you suddenly discovered that you were adopted from the other side of the Earth and your birth name was Asparagus Dorklebutt Jr., you wouldn't identify yourself as such. You may be curious about your birth heritage but it wouldn't be you, it would be somebody else if circumstances has played out differently.
