22) Hulk (Lee & Kirby)
21) The Incredibles (Brad Bird)
20) Astonishing X-Men (Josh Whedon)
19) Oracle (John Ostrander & Kim Yale)
18) Hellboy (Mike Mignola)
17) Swamp Thing (Alan Moore)
16) Wolverine (Hugh Jackman)
15) Dream (Neil Gaiman)
14) Hulk (BIll Bixby/Lou Ferrgino)
13) Phoenix (Chris Claremont & Dave Cockrum)
12) The Flash (Carmine Infantino)
11) Superman (Fleischer Brothers)
10) Captain America (Ed Brubaker)

The more times passes, the more I see Miller's version of Batman as overrated.

And if Miller's Batman is that high, then I don't see how Punisher makes the top 5 of the worst. Is there a link with explanations?

Don't care.

It completely ignores a ton of characters from places other than DC or Marvel or Whedon.

Fail.
"Why are you pointing your screwdrivers like that? They're scientific instruments, not water pistols."
"Oh, the pointing again! They're screwdrivers! What are you going to do? Assemble a cabinet at them?"
"Are you capable of speaking without flapping your hands about?"
""Timey" what? "Timey wimey"?"

I'm also sure a lot of old-timers would take offense to Kirby and Lee's FF being lower than Hugh Jackman's Wolverine.

I know I do.

And while on those two creators - as much as their FF should be a Top 3 contender - the inclusion of their Incredible Hulk at #22 is an insult.. to top lists. While a classic and beloved by geeks - it really was a mess and shouldn't be on anyone's top list.

This. It's obvious what they are trying to do but it doesn't work. Throwing names around arbitrarily doesn't give this list any more credibility than a list that you would find on nuRama.

Having versions weakens the claim for the list, IMO. You could double or triple list some like then FF for various creator's work.

Lee & Kirby
John Byrne
Pacheco

The former was awesome. The later.... the former was awesome.

Add others like The Green Hornet, Doc Savage, Tarzan, Lone Ranger, Flash Gordon...

Exactly. They throw out Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Hellboy or mention names like Bill Bixby and the Fleischers, expecting those names to give their list more credibility but in reality all it does it make the list appear pretentious. They throw the names out without really understanding who they are or why they are important. It's just a hastily put together piece that falls flat on every level.

The Fantastic Four are way to low on the list(I'm 33 not that old and it bothers me).

Or by omission - they give credit to Carmine Infantino for the Flash without a whisper of John Broome. :smt011
