Say what you want about Judd, he writes a good Batman and has a sense of humour about himself.

Winick joked that he’s the most reviled writer in comics who rams his agenda on books and characters and makes characters gay. He then ran down a list of events readers will expect from his title (noting that it was a work of satire): Batman and Robin fully explore their relationship, Blue Beetle returns from the dead, Jason Todd, dead again; Jason Todd alive again; Barbara Gordon walks again, Barbara Gordon loses the use of her legs; Batwoman permanent guest star; Bruce Wayne is elected Mayor of Gotham City and outlaws heterosexual marriages in a storyline called, “Judd Winick Wins Another GLAAD Award;” G’nort, and Bat-Mite: dead; Superman and Batman explore their relationship to the fullest in a story title “You Be My Midnighter and I Will be Your Apollo.”

I have a feeling this will piss a lot of people off but I liked Under the Hood so I'm intrigued a little bit.

I think Winnick gets a bad rap a lot of the time. What I read of his first Batman run was mostly fun.

I thought Morrison was supposed to come back in June?

Okay!

He's still a piss-poor writer, because he can't write most characters in-character. And I see that, like many of his fans, he fails to realize that this is the true problem, and instead uses the notion that he puts "gay issues" in his books as a ridiculous straw man to deflect all criticism of him.

Call me when any of this changes.
Needless to say, I won't be waiting for a call that'll never happen.

Isn't it thought he'll be launching a new 'Batman and Robin' series.

Judd will be on the continuing Batman book.

Judd needs to write a Jason Todd series. Preferably one where Jason kills a lot of the useless cannon fodder villains that even Geoff wouldn't touch.

I'm kinda disappointed by this news. Winick's run was average as I think there was too much focus on the red Hood and Black Mask even though the stories weren't bad.

also, he was the writer of the Batman series about two years ago. Why can't we get someone with less Batman experience or hasn't written the book in the past five years?
