At the same time, comic boards are becoming harder and harder to navigate because it seems like there's an army of Alfonses and Algertmans, who now target DC instead of Marvel. It seems like people are beginning to whine about even the most insignificant of shit. If that makes me an apologist dickbag, whatever.

DC-Bag is brilliant

Honestly though, by trying to control the voices of people criticising their company DC are coming off as crybabies who can't hack it. This isn't some kind of bullying on a small voiceless soicial group...this is a subsidiary of one of the largest multinational multimedia subsidiaries in the world.

So people decide to say they don't like your current product and not stop...so what, whats next after you try and marginalise any negative opinions, banishing them to a secret board only visible to people that don't like DC?

I know it's fun to criticize DC, but this is ridiculous.

IF you read the post, it's a mod saying: "Don't start duplicate threads."

That's it. No ghetto, no horrible DC plot, just a Forum Mod saying that if you want to post about something, please post in the existing thread rather than starting a new one.

That's all. No conspiracy. Just basic bulletin board moderation in action.

I think that's a gross oversimplification considering threads dating back a year ago were merged into their mega thread.

It's already 4 thousand posts.

Sorry, that's got nothing to do with basic board moderation. When it comes to moderators performing admin, the basic idea is to prune or merge when doing so makes the board easier for users to navigate. This evidently makes the boards harder to slog through, especially for those posting in the original threads.

That said, I agree that it probably isn't a DC plot. This is more than likely CBR falling over itself to avoid the appearance of annoying Warners. I mean, that's even dumber, but still.

I remember one time on a hip hop forum when Eminem's album came out, everyone decided to create their own review thread so I meticulously merged each review thread into one and it turned out okay. Kept the forum clean and uncluttered.

So like if I want to complain about Demon Knights and misac wants to complain about Superman Unchained and nieto wants to complain about Batman, it all goes in one thread?

Well yes, I've never really liked DC comics, but I don't come across as an unhinged maniac when I complain about them.

For what it's worth, the mod in question posted that he didn't do it for DC, but to cut down on duplicate thread, and offers as proof the fact that there are still two negative DC threads in that forum. And insists it was all his idea that he didn't consult anyone over, including the other mods.

He also offers a bit of prime bridge real estate in Brooklyn, and swears that Nixon was not a crook.

I believe him.
