Eh, trying to get a little more money out of digital sales for those unable to wait two months. I get that.
It's actually IDW who used to half the price of their books after a month and now just take off a dollar that upsets me. I know that just puts them on par with DC (actually they're ahead since at least you only have to wait a month) but digital comics shouldn't be three dollars a piece. They should be a dollar. Maybe two. Anything else is too expensive.
And damn you Marvel. You never lower the cost on your books. I just want to frickin' read All-New X-Men and everything is four bucks. I'm not spending four dollars on a digital comic unless it's triple sized. At least you have two weekly sales except you never have books I like and don't have on sale.
honestly, the way to go with Marvel if you don't mind waiting a few months is to just sign up for the Marvel Unlimited app. $60/yr, and the library is huge, with regular updates of newer books. i'm currently catching up on Spider-Man (why, God, why do I do this to myself??????), Venom, and Scarlet Spider while also going back and reading stuff like Agents of Atlas, Tomb of Dracula, original Mar-vell...you don't "own" the books, but honestly who cares? at that price you can't beat it.
as an example of the wait, I think they just updated Spidey to #699, Thor, God of Thunder and Iron Man to either #4 or 5, etc. they stay about a trade or so behind on new books, which is not bad.
