Avenging Spider-Man #22 aka GREATEST ISSUE EVER

Postby Zechs » Wed Jun 12, 2013 1:03 pm

I bought this for the fact this was supposed to be about Mysterio and the Punisher being a thorn in Spock's side in an attempt to add to his "collection". What do I get instead? "Mysterio" leads Spock to his benefactor who is...

HOBGOBLIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Roderick Kingsley himself!!! YES!! I have to say this was a fun issue and Yost played Spock vs. Kingsley quite well with the former barely beating the later, who in turn uses the situation to escape. Though now Spock knows what Kingsley is up too so we got ourselves a grudge match on the horizon.

Well, at least Kingsley's fate at the hands of Spock will be much better than what awaits Phil in later this summer when they meet.

[Reveal] Spoiler: Click to Expand
Spock has more than six cells. The final page had several sillouted but two still empty along with the captive Chameleon, Electro, Sandman, and now "Mysterion".

I was more hoping that Spock either kills Phil or Phil just gives up being the Hobgoblin and goes away afterwards.

And then he dies on the way back to his home planet?

Glad we can say that here. 8)

Agreed. I would personally like to pretend that the real Phil Urich is still out there as the good goblin who isn't crazy and the guy that showed up in Slott's run is basically Gabriel Stacey posing as Phil.
