DC Hires Fictional Character to Write Earth 2

DC Hires Fictional Character to Write Earth 2

Tom Taylor, the main character from Unwritten, will take over as Earth 2's new writer.

Source: MTV Geek

Tom Taylor, the main character from Mike Carey and Peter Gross's The Unwritten series, will be the new writer of Earth 2, the Outhouse has learned.  DC announced that the fictional character and inspiration for a Harry Potter-esque series of children's books (which are technically fictional fictional books) would be taking over from James Robinson (who departed on less than ideal terms with DC) starting in October.

Personally, we're alright with this creative choice as it marks the first time that DC has handed a comic book over to a purely fictional writer who happens to have magical powers and a flying cat.  In fact, we're prepared to fully shut down HasDCDoneSomethingStupidToday.com in celebration of this---

Oh, excuse me.  I've just learned that the Tom Taylor writing Earth 2 is in fact an actual person who just happens to share his name with the main character of The Unwritten.  Taylor is in fact the writer of the hugely popular Injustice: Gods Among Us tie-in.  He'll be working with Nicola Scott, who has yet to storm off the title.  We'll reserve forming an opinion on the title until we see what this Taylor does.

Every so often I imagine this as being what ThanosCopter actually looks like:

Well thank goodness it isn't Levitz. Don't know how this guy is but I'll give him a shot.

DC's slowly doing what they should've done at the beginning of the New 52 and getting some good writers. We'll see how long they stay.

Didio's stuff is good too.

Didn't Chuck Austen once write something under a different name, and people loved it?

Even a blind dog can find a bone once in a great while. But the dog is still blind.

I'd now like to take this opportunity to apologize to all canines for mentioning them in reference to Chuck Austen.

Although, following this line, it could by that "Tom Taylor" is a pseudonym Mike Carey is using. Though I can't imagine why...it's actually good at what he does.

As well as being one of the artists on Alan Moore's run of Miracle/Marvelman...
