Which one? 52? Wasn't impressed by it.

If its Marvel cosmic, I've been willing to give it a chance, but I haven't been really able to find any of the stuff in trades. That said, I haven't been to impressed with what I've read of D&A, either.

It's the clash of Hab's love for Giffen and Annihilation and Nacireman's love of the Legion! This has been years in the making, folks!

To be fair, cancelling Legion was a pretty wise move to begin with.

After DC stupidly let Giffen f**k it up as much as he could in an issue and a half.

These remind me of the Tangent Universe somehow...
- Continuity is or it is not. There is no such thing as soft continuity.
- A character IS his continuity.
- Continuity is consistency of the characteristics of people, plot, objects, and places seen by the reader or viewer.

Very interesting. Whether or not they keep the Legion universe intact, with Giffen and DeMatteis involved - this is a must buy!!!

Any thoughts I had about you being right about comics and me being wrong died when you started slamming Hickman's Avengers.

Giffen put the last nail in the coffin for the Legion DC began building when Meltzer and Johns f**ked over Mark Waid and brought this sham of a "classic" Legion revival because they wanted to stroke their egos and go on a power trip.

It failed. It failed because Johns never gave a flying s**t about the Legion. He only wanted it for the Superman connection. And when he got the Legion, he broke it like it was a little toy he made mommy get for him, and then decided he didn't want it anymore.

And now you're just like Johns. You got your fricking "classic" Legion. And it failed. And you failed. Because it didn't work.

Four words I really don't get pleasure in saying: I told you so. The only make me angry at how DC f**ked the book I really cared about the most in life up. Just to give a part timer like Meltzer and a Hollywood spank who treated the Legion and Legion fandom like toilet paper a BJ with.

And you helped DC do it.

on the one hand, I would normally agree.

on the other hand, this looks like a steaming dog-turd of an idea.

and on the other hand, i'm pretty sure that the DCnU has finally completely broken me, because even WITH this creative team, there's no way i'm buying this.

ugh.

DC officially became creatively bankrupt after it announced this.

You're really calling Geoff Johns a Hollywood spank?

He started out in Hollywood. So yes, he's a Hollywood spank.

You're ridiculous, Geoff Johns is the most comic-booky of comic book writers.

He's been writing comics since 1999!

This, of course, goes entirely without saying. In the end, there is absolutely nothing that DC could do with the Legion-era that would make certain people happy, and this particular bit of news was always going to make him lose what little of the plot he ever had.

Me, I reckon it's probably wisest to reserve judgement until the book comes out, or at least until we get more details about it. Engaging certain people in debate is just the way to a migraine.

And he was Richard Donner's assistant in Hollywood before that.

In Los Angeles, Johns cold-called the office of director Richard Donner, whose films Johns adored, in particular The Goonies and the first two Superman films, which Johns felt captured the essence of that character, and were, in Johns' view, among the best films of all time. According to Johns, who called Donner's office for an internship, he was transferred until Donner picked up the phone by accident, leading to a conversation, and the internship Johns sought. Johns started off copying scripts, and after about two months, was hired as a runner, or production assistant for Donner, whom Johns regards as his mentor.[5][6]

While working on production of Donner's 1997 film Conspiracy Theory, Johns visited New York City, where he met DC Comics personnel such as Eddie Berganza, reigniting his childhood interest in comics.[5]
