There's not a single thing a LotR movies does that a Larfleeze movie couldn't do better if Johns' writing the script.

Geoff Johns already had the opportunity to write for TV, he wrote several episodes of Smallville and was one of the writers on Blade.

Throughout all this, he stayed in comics.

The Blade job was interestingly happened at the time Johns' books had garnered a habit of being late.
