Heh

Ranjō Miyake's Bussen Manga Gets Live-Action Drama, Stage Play

Ranjō Miyake's Bussen manga is getting both a live-action drama and a stage adaptation this year. Ryō Yoshizawa (Kamen Rider Fourze's Ryusei Sakuta, live-action Daily Lives of High School Boys' Hidenori) will star in both adaptations as the monk-in-training Shōsuke Tamura.

The manga centers on a Buddhist temple that opens the "Bussen" Buddhist vocational school to try to escape its financial difficulties. The school recruits students from around Japan who were not able to pass any of their high school entrance examinations and have been left behind by other schools. A neighboring rich temple sends in the airheaded and clumsy monk-in-training Shōsuke Tamura as a spy at Bussen.

Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo Manga Gets Live-Action Show

The 29th issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine is announcing on Wednesday that a live-action adaptation of Miki Yoshikawa's Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo manga has been green-lit. The drama is scheduled to begin airing in Japan on the Fuji TV channel on August 10 at 11:10 PM, and will air every Saturday.

The story of the original manga begins when high-school boy Yamada bumps into the beautiful girl Shiraishi on the stairs, and their lips touch as they fall. When they regain their wits, they realize that they have swapped bodies. As time progresses, the two realize that this is not the only mysterious happening in the school.

"Why are you pointing your screwdrivers like that? They're scientific instruments, not water pistols."
"Oh, the pointing again! They're screwdrivers! What are you going to do? Assemble a cabinet at them?"
"Are you capable of speaking without flapping your hands about?"
""Timey" what? "Timey wimey"?"

Paper: Live-Action Lupin III Casts Shun Oguri, Arashi's Sakurai, Satoshi Tsumabuki

The Tokyo Sports newspaper reported again on Friday and Saturday that a live-action film based on Monkey Punch's Lupin III manga and anime will have Shun Oguri (Captain Harlock, Detective Conan, Hana Yori Dango, Space Brothers) in the title thief role. The newspaper added that Arashi band member Sho Sakurai (Yatterman, Honey and Clover) will play the sharpshooter Daisuke Jigen, while Satoshi Tsumabuki (Dororo, Dragon Head, Ikebukuro West Gate Park) will play the swordsman Goemon Ishikawa.

NTV, the television broadcaster of the Lupin III anime, has not officially announced a live-action Lupin III film.
