What’s New In The New 52: Iris Gets A New Suit

Check out Barry's solution to keep Iris safe from a mysterious killer

Source: Press Release - DC Blog

Readers of the current The Flash story arc know that it features a mysterious “Speed Force killer”.  In order to keep Iris safe from this elusive murderer, Barry must find a way to make her undetectable to whoever it is committing these crimes. Using a method similar to how he constructed his own suit, Barry makes a special protective suit for Iris that will prevent the killer from sensing the Speed Force energy in her. And while Iris doesn’t have speed powers, this suit allows her to comfortably travel at super speed.

But will this suit really stop Iris from becoming the Speed Force killer’s next victim? Plus, how will Barry’s girlfriend Patty react to The Flash spending so much of his time attached to Iris’ hip? Only time will tell.

Below check out Francis Manapul’s  interior art from The Flash #22.

I must say, this comic always appears to be a fun time that I'm missing out on due to my avoidance of all things New 52.

This would have been a more OH article if it had said that she was getting a new fridge along with that suit from DC.

Iris West > Patty Spivot

Just wish DC would remember that.

I read it for 5 issues or so in the middle. While the art and villains were good, I don't think anyone will ever convince me that Barry Allen isn't boring.

This Barry feels more like Wally to me.

I like the book quite a bit, and I generally hate Barry pre-New 52.

To be fair, our writers tend to write things that are funny.

But not always succeeding. Punchy made angry vaginas, not laughing vaginas.

I notice how some places consider just about any death of a woman to be "fridging" but have no problem with guys dying horribly. How you can't make a Simspon's quote ("and then _________ died on the way back to their home planet") without the mods going batshit insane.

Preposterous.

Glad our mods are cool.

This idea of Barry is so going to backfire big time.

Haven't found any other previews of this issue yet. Have a feeling after the comic-con this weekend we'll start seeing some.

Well, considering he's been back for about half a decade, you might not want to hold your breath on that thought.
