DC Maybe Fired Ales Kot

The fan favorite writer was not listed in the credits for Suicide Squad #24, causing The Outhouse's hand to hover over the counter reset button.

Source: Full DC Solicitations October 2013

DC solicitations came out today, and aside from the cancelation of weird, mildly pervy Ame-comi Girls, there wasn't much of note... or WAS THERE?!

Ales Kot, who took over as writer of Suicide Squad with issue #20, was not listed in the credits for Suicide Squad #24. The always awesome Matt Kindt was credited as the writer instead, making it even more likely that Kindt will never talk to us again now that he's firmly entrenched at DC. :(

Asked about the situation on Twitter, Kot responded:

So is he fired? Did he leave? Has he gone into seclusion because he's tired of people assuming his name is a typo and calling him "Alex?" No one knows yet.

But we'll keep you updated, in grand and hyperbolic fashion we're sure if it turns out to be true.

Hopefully Kot is just off for the Forever Evil tie-in, because his first 2 issues have been awesome.

He's so talented, if DC has anyone left with a brain they should give him a higher-profile book.

Matt Kindt, I'm almost concerned about. He's still writing, drawing, inking, and coloring Mind MGMT each month, but keeps adding books at DC in addition to his upcoming Valiant book. But, every artist has to judge for themselves what size workload they can handle.

maybe Bob Harras didn't know Kot was famous. Gail's popularity certainly caught him flat footed.
