Probably because the book had just started up a few months before the Marvel Now! program and already was doing well critically and commercially.

Some of the books that didn't relaunch had "marvel now" starting points though... like Hawkeye and Daredevil both became Marvel Now books, they got the banner on the bottom, they just didn't start with a new number one. Journey into Mystery changed leads when it became a marvel now book. Captain Marvel became a marvel now book too, i just forget what issue it did.

Thanks Erik!

Let me ask this: when Daredevil became a Marvel NOW book, did it start off a new storyline?

Daredevil became a Marvel Now book at issue 22 which was a Daredevil/Spectacular Spider-Man team up issue.

Hawkeye became one at 6, which was a stand alone story i believe

Venom at 31, i think that's when he moved to Philly

Scarlet Spider at 13, started a new storyline

Wolverine and the X-Men at 19 with a stand alone story...

Captain Marvel at 9, started a new storyline that fed into the Enemy Within Crossover

Hulk became Red She-Hulk at 58 for Marvel Now

Journey INto Mystery changed leads from Loki to Sif at 646 and started a new storyline

Avengers Assemble became Marvel now at issue 9 with a new writer and storyline.

Gambit, Astonishing X-Men and X-Factor are the only books currently published right now i believe that aren't Marvel Now books, but all are cancelled or will be ending. but rumors are the last two will be re launched in the fall.
