Hitsugi no Chaika Fantasy Novels Have Anime in the Works

The homepage for the publisher Fujimi Shobo revealed on Thursday that an anime adaptation for Ichiro Sakaki's Hitsugi no Chaika (Chaika the Coffin Princess) fantasy light novels is currently in the works. The publisher had hinted that its Dragon Magazine would make an important announcement about the novels in the September issue.

Hitsugi no Chaika's story centers around Toru Acura, a 20-year-old retired soldier meandering through life now that the war has ended. He encounters Chaika Trabant, a 14-year-old sorceress carrying a coffin and follows her in hopes of finding meaning to his life again. The two travel with Toru's adopted sister, Akari, the employed member of the group and thus Toru's source of income.

Kei Kusunoki's Ogre Slayer Manga Returns

The October issue of Leed Publishing's Sengoku Bushō Retsuden magazine, which will ship on August 26, will include a revival of Kei Kusunoki's Ogre Slayer (Onigirimaru) manga series called Onigirimaruden (Ogre Slayer Legend). Unlike the original series, which ran in Weekly Shonen Sunday from 1992 to 2001 and took place in the present day, Onigirimaruden will take place in the Sengoku (Warring States) period. The October issue will include a one-shot story, but serialization is still planned for future issues.

The story will be centered around the legend of Tadachika Gamoh, a real lord of Matsuyama Castle who was said to have arrested and killed pregnant women in his lands because he was jealous he could not produce a male heir.

would anyone have an idea how i can keep track of whether a series will get dubbed to english? gotten to initial d fourth th stage and it seems to be the last of the dub's.

fifth stage just got released this year...so i guess this means i'll need to go for the subbed version. how long does it usually take them to do dubs?

"Why are you pointing your screwdrivers like that? They're scientific instruments, not water pistols."
"Oh, the pointing again! They're screwdrivers! What are you going to do? Assemble a cabinet at them?"
"Are you capable of speaking without flapping your hands about?"
""Timey" what? "Timey wimey"?"

Note the websites of the dubbing companies but also check in with Anime Networks or here for updates, since licenses change.

Dubbing is kind of dying out. Dubbing costs more and takes longer as they need to rewrite the scripts for the English translation to make sense and lip-sync with the characters. Subs are just translations and text. Most fan groups can turn out an episode subbed in three days at least and that's doing it part time.

Plus, long running series are not always going to get covered totally unless interest keeps up.
