![]() After weeks of correcting RU, PhoenixEquinox finally gets his pick! And he went with Justice League #22. Back on track....mostly TO THE REVIEWS! TRINITY WAR, the action-mystery event of the summer, begins with a full-length epic adventure! The death of a hero ignites a violent war among the Justice Leagues! It’s League vs. League vs. League as an impending darkness approaches the DC Universe. But the truth behind it all will lead to an evil that threatens every hero on the planet. And what does the Secret Society of Super-Villains have to with this? Everything. digital copy availible here ______________________ Ze rules:Post your review in the forum thread or in the comments section here on the front page. Review as often or as little as you like. Once you've posted 5 reviews, you will be awarded 1 pick. You can post 5 reviews, right? That's a totally achievable goal and with day and date digital releases becoming the standard, it shouldn't matter if your shop ordered enough copies of this weeks comic or not. When multiple Review Groupers have posted 5 (or more) qualifying reviews, they will be awarded their pick in the order that they qualified. What constitutes a qualifying review? Any review posted (with a score on a scale from 0-10, that's right 0!) within 1 calendar month of the thread going live. Reviews are to be at least 5 sentences long. It shows that a) you have at least read this week's pick and b) you have some unique insight into the comic. Reviews posted while waiting in line for your pick will be applied to your next pick. I'll be keeping track of everyone's progress with the newly christened Spreadsheet of Fantastic (RIP, Spreadsheet of Doom) and reporting the results in the Current Members list in the weekly OP. When it's your turn to make a pick, I will PM you. If you do not respond to me by Midnight EST the following Sunday, you will lose your pick and I will start a poll to determine that week's selection. Any week in which we do not have a Review Grouper with 5 qualifying picks, we will determine the week's comic via poll. If it's your week to pick, remember to keep it under $3.99. There are some problems I had that hampered my enjoyment. Chief among them being the premise itself. Heroes vs heroes is a concept that has been really overused in comics in the last few years. I'd be lying if I claimed that I wasn't getting a little tired of it. To a lesser extent is Johns' portrayal of Madame Xanadu. The way the character has been established, even taking into account the changes brought about by Flashpoint, I just can't see her being duped by Plastique the way she was this issue. I will say that the cards thrown about the street at the end was a nice effect, even if I disagree that the events leading to it are likely. The overall effect has me seeing this issue as average at best. 5 out of 10. |

having not read a JL book since the first trade, I found Justice League #22 to be incredibly easy to jump into and follow. I had no idea that the JLA was created in response to the JL, the narration from Madame X will make the introduction of the JLD pretty simple. I am unsure if this event is supposed to compare to AU, but more happened in this one issue than the first four of AU. All that being said, it wasn't all that interesting. More compelling than AU, but then again are lil'RuRu's books (he's 2). 6/10 |
