Here's one bit of SDCC news no one caught.
Chuck Palahniuk announced on Friday that he's begun work on a graphic novel sequel to Fight Club. During a panel at SDCC, the writer surprised fans when he said that he was working on a new series of stories featuring narrator Jack and his alter-ego Tyler Durden. Palahniuk provided the following description for the fansite chuckpalhniuk.net:
It will likely be a series of books that update the story ten years after the seeming end of Tyler Durden. Nowadays, Tyler is telling the story, lurking inside Jack, and ready to launch a come-back. Jack is oblivious. Marla is bored. Their marriage has run aground on the rocky coastline of middle-aged suburban boredom. It's only when their little boy disappears, kidnapped by Tyler, that Jack is dragged back into the world of Mayhem.
No artist or publisher has been announced, but I imagine this will be pretty sought after by various publishers. Palahniuk said that he wouldn't be able to release the comic until 2015 due to contract stipulations.
