Seriously though, if we're supposed to read-between-the-lines that Wyngarde fucked Jean, then the Wrecking Crew totally went to town on She-Hulk in Secret Wars. (Jan even says, "My God, Jen, what did they do to you?")

I was pretty aware of the comics code and the ways writers used it or wrote around it as a younger reader. But I was also reading non-code independent books and comics journalism mags then too, in addition to all the bronze age Marvel and DC where writers wrote around the code or even pushed it a little (because I got my comics at a headshop and they ordered with wild abandon). In many cases, it was clear what was being implied was outside what the code would allow for then.

It's been a long while since it was ok for me to ogle 14 year old girls but I can recall(quite fondly) that there were more than a few of them who were built like brick shithouses that defied gravity.

It happens. :smt102

To Superficticious: I've never read Lost Girls, BTW. But the Great One did manage to turn handjobbing a fishstick into Shakespearean tragedy, so anything's possible..

When I bought the trade about a year or two ago, it was the first time I had read it in over a decade. It could certainly be implied.

And Johnny Storm is a racist dick.

EDIT: Here's the images from the issue that I can find:

And speaking of inappropriate teenage action:

themes of bondage & male dominance?

It's interesting that people have more of a problem with this than when Idie killed multiple people in Schism.

Also, her normal superhero costume is skintight, seeing that on an actual real-life 14 year-old, it would probably come off as sexual. All superhero costumes are fetishwear.

Oh wow, I gotta dig that out of storage, good ol' Jen. :smt007

Whenever people get up in arms about sexualized characters I laugh. Sometimes I think some grown ups forget how pervy teenagers are thanks to puberty and the hormones and the GLAVVVINGG!

Traci 13 when she first appeared, Supergirl before the "no more upskirt" mandate, Mary Marvel, X-23, just about every female teen Titan or X-men. Artists tend to forget the approximate ages of the characters they draw.

But seriously, how did she lace herself in a corset? Unless it has a side zipper or something. Eh, when were clothes ever drawn as practical.

I have a poker game to introduce you to.
- Continuity is or it is not. There is no such thing as soft continuity.
- A character IS his continuity.
- Continuity is consistency of the characteristics of people, plot, objects, and places seen by the reader or viewer.
