I have a weird dislike for that combination.
I like mint. I like chocolate. But I can't stand the two together.
Crazy, huh? :smt102

It has its time and place. Don't think I could fuck with mint Oreo cookies. After Eight is okay though. Mint chocolate chip ice cream is the shit.

I understand i have a few friends that do not like the Mint and Choclate combo of any sort. Still I think it is one of the better Oreo combinations some of their other summer fare, (Watermelon Oreos???) are disgusting.

Man these kind of posts just make my heart sink.

I can remember back in the 60s when people would say mints and chocolates just didn't belong together. It's crazy but it looks like we still have a long way to go before bigotry like this can be abolished.

 I've fully embraced chocolate & peanut butter (even though I rarely partake... I love a 33" waistline more than a Reese's).
I'll even promote chocolate & raspberry.
But I cannot and WILL NOT tolerate mint and chocolate! :x :smt011

It's not shocking. It's just bloody too typical and we are making fun of it.

I'm a fan of X-23, mainly due to Marjorie Liu's writing, in which Laura Kinney was depicted as probably 17-21, with a close friendship with Jubilee and Gambit, and vaguely suicidal because she can't quite digest her past. You almost have to convince yourself she's 19 or older because the horror-story of her existence is really too intense for a commercialized comic book with adverts for coca-cola on the back page.

WotXM is at least a "silly book" and Idie's sexy pics are just artistic formula without much further thought put into it. The artist likely isn't a continuity hound and may even have assumed she was a college kid (Jean Grey School--hard to tell sometimes whether it's a university, a highschool, a junior high, or what--and all the teachers are called "professor" and wolverine is a "dean" (not a principal) so the artist was justified in mistaking Idie for a college girl.

And, yes, even a 14 year old can mature early--but that's where us "making fun of it" comes from. The critics feel a little uncomfortable when they digest that they are consuming sexy pics of women who aren't legally adults.

So they make fun of it to feel more comfortable about not dropping and burning the book and to not feel like a stereotypical comic-book-reading 50-something who works for the post office and keeps his late mother preserved in the ice box in the basement where he still turns to her for advice and reassurance while nursing a crush on South Park's Erik Cartman.

If making fun of a comic book reassures conscientious readers that they aren't headed down the path described above, then by god, let them make fun of comic that is of arguably bad taste hands-down. :smt006
