World of Krypton has been total boring, generic sci-fi. Nu-Krypton feels like a story set on modern-day Earth that's been wrapped in technobabble, and futuristic buildings and clothing as opposed to an actual alien culture defined by its technology and environment.

Did they rehash the Kandor concept, I take it?

Take away the hi-tech and this could be Olympus Has Fallen or White House Down. There isn't a sense of "alien culture" in what you posted outside of sci-fi tech that's treated as decoration at best, deus ex machna at worse.

Compare that to Dune, where society, character motivations, etc. Are defined by the level of technology, environment, The Spice, etc. that Frank Herbert developed.

I guess. Depends of the Kandor you're talking about.\

I know that Morrison's Kryptonians acted in multiple ways like modern humans do. He had Lara and her friends gossiping like the wives of Earth scientists would amongst themselves.
