What surprised me is that he can't remember every obscure GL. I wanted Ch'p

Maybe I'll get Joe Staton to do it (and bring reference)

Has anyone ever had another colorist color your commission? Laura Martin is going to be in Baltimore and does coloring comissions.

The two commissions I got at the Granite Con

by Chris Giarrusso (Homage to Archer and Armstrong #0)

Shadowman vs. Master Darque by J.K. Woodward

If you ever find out J.K. Woodward is coming to a convention near you Get A Commission. He puts so much work into it and is inexpensive.

Here's my first pre-order for NYCC in a couple of weeks, GI Joe's Cover Girl by Ryan Kelly.

So, I went a little art nuts at NYCC this weekend. I got four more commissions, in addition to the Ryan Kelly Cover Girl.

Boomerang by Dean Kotz (Black Coat)
Shocker by Michael Walsh (Zero)
Speed Demon by Brian Hurtt (Sixth Gun)
Beetle by Marc Laming (Kings Watch)

If you don't know what they have in common, well, you should be reading Superior Foes of Spider-Man. It's the best comic on the stands right now. They're all cast members. I would have liked to have gotten Phil Jimenez to do Overdrive, the fifth member, but no such luck.

In addition to those, I also picked up:

Psyche-Out pinup by Robert Atkins from the GI Joe: Battleground game
Thunderbolts annual page by Norm Breyfogle
Black Coat page by Dean Kotz

And I went to the St Jude Charity Art Auction and won:
A Secret Avengers page by Gabriel Hardman
A pair of Superior Carnage pages by Stephen Segovia
Card Art of Zzzax from Legendary: A Marvel Deck Building Game by Tony Kordos

Here's a link to my comicartfans gallery to check 'em out.

Some awesome stuff there. Why no luck with Phil? Was he too backed up?

He didn't have a table in Artist's Alley. I heard he was just doing panels and portfolio reviews. Unfortunately, but with the haul I wound up with, I can't exactly complain.

Understandable. Definitely track him down at a con. He's a hoot to talk to.

So I've heard. I was on his line last year too, but he didn't have time for me. One of these days, I'll make it.

Geoff Darrow is indeed insane. He gave me one of my funniest Roomba sketches but one I can't share at all at work. His daughter (also a really talented artist) was mortified when she saw it.
