What a difference a year makes in terms of starts for Liverpool. Last year at this point they were down near the bottom of the standings. This year, it's totally the opposite.

Today would be the first time I got to see Swansea City's away uniforms. What the hell were they thinking with those?

They are damn ugly.

As good as Bale is, he's not worth more than Ronaldo.

It seems that Real Madrid thinks so.

Wow, just wow, I'd heard the rumours about the dollar figures being discussed for him, but it's still a shock to actually see it happen.

To be honest, if Ozil leaves RM they'll be worse off now. Hell their strike force is worse off now because they sold Higuain and kept the lazy Benzema.

Deadline day. We'd better get someone so that Giggs isn't fucking starting matches anymore....after yesterday I'd take Bebe over him. It was like watching an old man with Alzheimer's stumble onto the pitch.

Nani playing in his preferred RW position was great....too bad no one was linking up properly with him most of the time. But he turned back the clock then to the 10/11 season.

Ozil to Arsenal for 50m euro's looks locked in. If so, they're going to have a wage rebellion on their hands given that they were so reluctant to even offer RVP over 100k a week.

Also found this interesting op:
Who were the first club to set up a holding company to get round FA rules on club governance? And the first to raise money by floating on the stock market? ARSENAL

Who were the clubs that demanded home teams keep all the gate receipts, instead of sharing 25% with the visiting clubs? And if not, they'd form a super league. Well alongside the rags, Liverpool & Everton, there was Arsenal & Spurs.

Which two clubs sent representatives to tell the FA that they wanted a Premier League so they could get a bigger share of Sky's money? Liverpool & Arsenal.

Which English clubs were members of the G14, who demanded more money for playing in the CL or they'd form a European Super League? United , Arsenal & Liverpool.

Every bit of grubby, money-grabbing blackmail to get more dosh for a few big clubs at the expense of all the others has involved Arsenal. And all of a sudden, when they lost out to Abramovich & Sheikh Mansour, they wanted a level playing field.

YOU CAN'T BUY CLASS ARSENAL

We got Fellaini in the end.

Here's the really annoying part though, we missed out on Coentrao and Ander Herrera because outlet paperwork was so poor and not finished in time. They'd even gotten a kit number arranged for Herrera but the finance guys fucked up the agreement by 6mil in tax related fees while the coentrao stuff was just a mess.

Go fuck yourself Woodward.

We've strengthened our midfield.

That's all we needed really.

We have old man Evra who leaves Vidic to defend the left flank and Buttner and Fabio who are still way too raw to step up. Coentrao is a damn fine LB and at a great age.

A 2nd box to box guy like Ander would've allowed more rotation, given 32yr old Carrick a potential heir and given us the chance to offload the dead weight on the team list like Ando. And stop fucking playing Giggs over Kagawa :smt013

And I really hate Woodward even more than before. It wasn't enough that he was the mastermind behind the leveraged buyout (starting the debt) but he bent us over and screwed us just as hard with those two failures.

Kagawa is just getting to match fitness. In a few months he'll be way ahead of Giggs.

Evra is still one of the best full backs in the game. Love the lad

From Rooney's FB page regarding the Phil Jones training clash:

Some people seem to be questioning my commitment to the England squad and the fact I had to pull out of the 2 games. There's nothing I would like more than to be helping the lads in the qualifiers. I'm sure people will see from these images the reason why I won't be able to play.

warning they're kinda graphic..especially pic 2 which is the close-up:

Wonder if this is how Jones reacted:

What a game Ronaldo just had...hard game throughout, injured ref badly against Portugal... Messi chants...Portugal was losing...

He then slots in 2 goals and the stadium goes silent. CR now has more goals for Portugal than Eusebio.
