In the Man Bites Dog department, a DC creator exits a book amicably. Of course, he's also the CCO.
IGN is reporting that Geoff Johns will end his Aquaman run after November's Aquaman #25, the conclusion of the Death of a King storyline. Johns did not name any editorial interference as the cause of his departure, though it should be noted that Johns is DC's Chief Creative Officer, and so was unlikely to editorially interfere with himself.
"I don't know what all these creators are talking about," Johns reportedly said, in our minds. "My experience was great, and I found myself as an executive very easy to work with and accomodating to my goals and plans as a creator."
"Aquaman will be fine without me," we imagine Johns continued, "and will continue living in sin with his non-wife, Mera, who he was definitely never married to, nope, nosireebob."
Johns will continue to write the Justice League books and Forever Evil, as well as Batman: Earth One. He hopes to spend more of his free time sitting on the floor of his office and playing with action figures, which he cites as the inspiration for most of his work.
"Pew! Pew!" said Johns as his Superman action figure fired heat vision blasts at a Lex Luthor action figure. "Pwwwwwooooooooo!"
