And what exactly is Thanos? Definitely makes more sense to be using the Eternals as opposed to the Inhumans.

Why? Thanos has banged women all across the universe. He's obviously not the type to restrict himself to his own kind.

One of my only real problems with Infinity is that any team with Thor, Hyperion and a Starbrand is going to be way too powerful for anyone to take seriously.

Unless you're dealing with a enemy as powerful as the Builders supposedly are. It's only issue three, and I doubt they're going to be crawling away from this war just yet. Especially when they apparently have more than ways to kill a planet than necessary.

That's the thing, I don't buy it. Add in Gladiator and its even more unbelievable.

Have you been reading Avengers before this? Hickman's been building them up as being pretty dern powerful. Maybe even on Celestial level powerful.

Gladiator's powers are at least partially psionic in nature (go check out #FF 250), so he's easier to beat than you think. Plus he supposedly has some weakness to a certain type of radiation, from what I've read. So it shouldn't he hard to take out.

It would also have to do with the fact that Gladiator is for the most part created as a yardstick for other characters to knock down as he was primarily created to be a parody of Superman for Marvel( Aside from Hyperion of course). When he is written properly he can be a badass character but Marvel mostly uses him as a plot device in the stories they have.

Thor has taken on Celestials by himself.

We know next to nothing about the builders.

In some ways Gladiators powers make him the toughest, his belief, so he's tougher than you think.

But from what we know, The Builders supposedly have manipulated space, time, and the evolution of intergalactic races (Ex Nhilo is shown in Avengers #2 with a primitive avian species looking suspiciously like the Shi'ar. ). The Builders are said to have constructed the underlying superflow of the universe. You really think these guys are going to be pu$$ies?

I seriously doubt that they've run out of tricks under their sleeves after just three issues of Infinity. I could imagine any victory the Avengers get against the Builders in Infinity won't be the last time they'll be dealing with each other during Hickman's run. Especially if the Avengers become a more galactic force if I suspect they're becoming.

It's nothing the Celestials haven't been doing for a long time.

At the end of the day this Avengers lineup is too powerful and will have to be broken up at the end of this event.

As far as cosmic teams go I'll stick with GotG and the Nova corps when they finally bring Richard Rider back. The only thing that might work would be the Inhumans in space.

Sounds like a Marvel Universe of the New Universe Justice to me.Which in Hickman's ongoing storyarc, makes sense.

Infinity sounds more and more like a setup event as it goes on. It feels like Hickman is using Infinity to ratchet up his ongoing storylines in Avengers and New Avengers, rather than concluding them all.

It didn't sound like the book would be shying away from the cosmic stuff following Infinity. There's supposed to be a little reshuffling of the team after Infinity, but I suspect that will involve something more on the lines of SpOck getting fired and maybe Wolverine leaving.

As far as cosmic teams go I'll stick with GotG and the Nova corps when they finally bring Richard Rider back. The only thing that might work would be the Inhumans in space.

Which is you're loss, as Hickman's work on Avengers has been awesome.

I've been reading Avengers, it just has nothing to do really with what we're talking about. Ninety percent of the run has taken place on Earth, one hundred percent of the interesting parts.

Do you know anything about the Celestials? Literally nothing you've been saying differentiates them from the builders.

See Avengers #7. The Builders are multiversal and fool around with space/time and genetics, the Celestials are universal and just go around creating Deviants and Eternals in their sandbox whereas the Builders are literally all over the board...that's the difference.

Ties back into the incursion subplot in NA and connects it with this invasion into the 616 after Wolverine stabbed time to death. The Celestials wouldn't fit into everything that well.
