Fans prematurely celebrated when Lobdell stated he had been fired from DC, only to learn it was a joke.
CBR ran an article this morning stating that Scott Lobdell had been fired from Teen Titans. In a panel at Las Vegas Comic Con, Lobdell told the crowd that he had been fired via text message from the book. Fans everywhere began to pour out onto the streets to celebrate the departure of the controversial writer, who they blame for singlehandedly destroying all their favorite teen DC characters.

However, the good news was shortlived. Almost immediately, CBR retracted the story after Lobdell contacted the site and told them that his statements were a joke, and that he would be writing Teen Titans for the foreseeable future. Fans everywhere broke down in tears after learning that Lobdell wasn't going anywhere, and that Tim "This Isn't My Real Name" Drake would continue to be written by the writer for the foreseeable future.

This marks the second close call to resetting the Outhouse's famed "HasDCDoneSomethingStupidToday.com" counter, which is currently poised to break its record 13 days without a reset. Earlier, Steven Bissette noted that he would not be getting paid for the Constantine television option as it was part of an existing Constantine option related to the Keanu Reeves movie.
We'll continue to update you on this non-story as it happens. In the meantime, feel free to mock CBR for acting like a second rate fan site that jumped on a story before the details were in and bemoan the death of 'comics journalism'. We expect CBR to start running snarky news articles and unveil HasDCPaidUsMoneytoPimpTheirComicsToday.com in the near future.
