S.H.I.E.L.D. Ratings Drop Again

ABC is reportedly considering canceling Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. two times, just for good measure.

Source: EW

Another week, another devastating ratings plummet for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The beleaguered drama pulled in just 7.68 milion viewers with a 2.7 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic, numbers which were so bad we rubbed our chins and frowned when we saw them. The show was defeated by NCIS once again, provoking more rumors that it will soon be canceled despite recently being picked up for a full 22 episode run.

"Nuh uh," denied series creator Joss Whedon, citing a no take-backs clause in the show's contract.

I've had three non-comic book friends (ok, fine, people I know) ask me if I've given up yet on this show

Still respectable for the targeted demo. I don't think it was realistic to expect it to continue to beat NCIS.

Not sure how many episodes have been produced so far but I'm seriously hoping they do something to turn it around. I've poked fun of it in past comments but, with Marvel looking to get more shows on TV, I really want this show to become good and gain a steady and strong viewership.

I know many are excited for the "Gardians of the Galaxy" movie but my concern about that project is the same I have for "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."; if they can't sell the product to non comic book readers, it could be a huge setback for future projects. I'm really curious to see how they sell Rocket Raccoon and Groot to the general public.

Pretty CGI and the fact the setting is in outer-space Groot and Raccoon will be sell-able.

Several non-comics readers I know have said they've gone back to NCIS, a show I don't know what it is or what NCIS actually stands for.

The show is not a good show. The lead actor is too flat, the Fitz Simmons thing is stupid, the idea that you grab some person off the street to help up is inane, poor acting, weak writing, show is doomed for failure. Hell the Fraction Hawkeye would make a better TV show.

Told you all... Ming Na is the kiss of death to sci-fi shows.

Now, to save this show I propose that each episode, Skye does a striptease and the odd fan dance and of course, pole dance.
Sci-gal joins her more often than not.

'Cause only sex can sell this show.

Oh wait, Dollhouse had a ton of that and it still got canceled.

Okay! Time for sexy Eliza Dushku to make her appearance on the show! Make it a really Whedon show!

This also goes to show, what works in the movies does not always translate over to tv.

I doubt if it gets cancelled before two seasons, unless its really, really expensive to produce. The ratings aren't horrible and there's room to improve.

The show is not doing anything for me atm. I can really care less about any of the characters.

Going against NCIS is tough but they are holding there own, NCIS has a built in audience even before the show started, as it was a spin-off of JAG

plus the NCIS team (either regular or L.A.) have great chemistry between the actors, which SHIELD has none

Sorry, I recorded it to watch later. Pacific Rim was top priority.

All the love for Coulson, but Marvel should have gone with Heroes for Hire.

Yup! Some Cage and Rand kicking butt with their gal pals Misty and Coleen would have rocked.

Did I just date myself there?
