Isn't that what they're already doing in the comics with Inhumans?

That's the way it sounds, although I'm a little behind on what Hickman's done.

Inhumans on SHIELD would be cool as hell, but doesn't that fall under FF/Fox?

I honestly have no idea anymore. I can't keep up with what property is grandfathered in with which studio. It's also confusing/frustrating how the cartoons can have Spider-Man team up with the Avengers yet we can't get that in live action. Why can't the studios see that teaming up will equal profit for everyone?!!

:smt102 Animation and live action have different legal terms, I guess.

Fox ain't letting go of X-Men. Ever. So in another year we'll have two movie versions of Quicksilver and Wanda. I think Daredevil's going back to Marvel. I thought FF was going to Marvel but it looks like it's getting a Fox reboot. It's frustrating but no one's going to share.

I do look forward to Knights of Vengeance movies from Marvel.

I still hold out (false) hope that Fantastic Four will be set in the 60s, similar to X-Men First Class.

I'm not sure if I'd trust Millar with that kind of film.

I'd wager he's greatly exaggerated his role as a consultant for the X-Men & FF movies.

Well, it's not just a straight translation of the movies.
The movies sold themselves on having substantially MORE continuity between films than is traditional; universe-building in a way that raised the stakes.

Agents of SHIELD feels like a sort of throwback; I can't remember the last time I watched a drama/action show with this little connection between basically episodic adventures. Which isn't intrinsically *bad* but it feels very dated to me.

I assume that it will eventually have a Whedon-standard structure with a season-long arc and big-bad (possibly big-bad and little-bad), but they haven't really manifested themselves yet.

Huh. The only premise for why they'd DO 'and now there are MILLIONS of Inhumans!' that made sense when they already had that with Mutants (and, indeed they just radically increased the number of mutants in 616)--- was that Marvel didn't have the movie rights to 'Mutants' under the terms of the Fox license.

That all falls apart as reasoning if they don't have the Inhuman rights, of course.
