I've given up on hoping or expecting the New 52 Supergirl to act like I expect Kara Zor-El to act. She's more of an impostor, in a way, than the Matrix was. At least after Peter David took Matrix over, she became very similar to the original in behavior and demeanor, and was thus readable. This one is just... not even likable. And not worthy of the name Supergirl. But sadly, she's all we've got right now. Hopefully Tony Bedard will be able to fix it. I dunno much about him as a writer, though... and no matter how good he is, it all depends on what DC wants to happen to the character. Which lately has not been anything good. |

Remember when I thought "Bunny" was the worst Cyborg Superman story EVER? ........ It has been replaced with this arc. You may all feel free to use scans from this issue and to make me angry. Know that posting any scans of the Bunny issue will never again give me any sort of rise, because I know there is a story like this somewhere that makes that even more awful. Whomever handles the character needs to "Stormwatch" and "Lobo" on the Cyborg Superman. When the story itself rushes it's way to the end because the editors even realize how much the story is awful, and needs a quick end for the "crossover" and next writer then you know you're truly reading something exceptionally putrid. If the Cyborg Superman doesn't show up again in the next ten years and they just bring back Henshaw and never mention this version again I'll consider it a blessing. As for a Supergirl story this is just as bad on par Pre New 52 when the book had a revolving door on writers and characterizations. |

I didn't even know the issue was out and I haven't read it save reading the spoilers now that I saw the thread. |

Well, I have read it and I thought it was awful. Terrible dialog, very bad pacing, riddled with plot holes, and so obviously rushed to a conclusion so they could make room for the next "event" (Krypton returns) that they may as well have posted a sign on the last page saying that's what they were doing. So far, Supergirl 24 is the worst-written issue of the entire New 52 run. And that's saying something, considering how bad 18, 21, 22, and 23 were. Basically, everything not written or co-written by Mike Johnson has sucked. But of them all, 24 is by far the worst. This is not to imply that I think Johnson's stuff was superb. But it was a damn sight better than Nelson's. Here's hoping Tony Bedard can clean up this mess. But I worry that rather than this happening, as someone said above, we're going to get back to the revolving door of creators that Supergirl had in the previous run before New 52. |

I might take a glance at it right now. The first two parts from the scans people have shown me are horrible. I still haven't been reimbursed for wasting my money on the villains month issue which I destroyed. |
