After falling a little behind on watching this show, I finally watched "Poenitentia" this morning and I must say that it was a massive improvement over the previous 2 episodes this season. I admit, I was on the fence about continuing to watch this series but "Poenitentia" definitely bought SoA a few more episodes in my book.
It took 6 seasons of annoying, reoccurring appearances by Drea de Matteo but they may have finally
found a way to make Wendy slightly interesting. I don't know what game she is trying to play here but with an illegal handgun in her possession and a history with drug abuse, she needs to be careful. All Gemma would need to do is make one anonymous phone call and the Wendy problem would be solved. That might be part of Wendy's plan though because we now know that her story about an abusive guy from AA was bullshit and her "bruises" were nothing more than make-up.
I still have no interest in Jax's "relationship" with Colette. With everything else going on right now, it feels rushed and out of place but damn if I didn't love the scene where Jax creepily watched Colette and Barosky in the act. Double points for making eye contact with Robocop. Hopefully this little incident will crush Jax and kill any potential interest in Colette for the future. Speaking of Barosky...
...shit Peter Weller is still a bad ass. I was really hoping that the entire torture porn story line would have been wrapped up but if they are going to spread it out, Peter Weller's Barosky will be a welcome addition for it's duration.
Man, Tig just can't catch a break can he? I hope he makes it out of this but I really can't see a way out of this particular situation for him. Even if he does make it out, what kind of future does he have now? He's got to know that Jax gave him up.
Finally, we already knew that Toric is one sick individual but I can't believe the stuff he is willing to do to get his way. Clearly, he is no better than the people he is trying to bring down. To be honest, I would be a little surprised if this story line doesn't lead to a reintroduction of Assistant U.S. Attorney Lincoln Potter. We need a character who is less morally gray and I really feel like Potter's story line was never properly finished.
